2007 Annual Peace & Dialogue Awards

Testimonials

The event was one of classiest dinners I have ever attended.  You folks do a great service for our community and the world at large.  Keep up the good work.  We need more like you.
Warner Saunders
Anchor, NBC5 News

I thought the event was absolutely grand. The format and presentation was extremely well done and the atmosphere was elegant. You should be very proud of what the Niagara Foundation has achieved, and the annual dinner is an excellent way to celebrate. Once again, on behalf of Frank Clark and the entire ComEd family, we greatly appreciate the Niagara Foundation's selection of Frank as an honoree for his work with the Legacy Fund, and we wish you much success in the future.
George W. Lofton III
Vice President, Economic Development

It was a wonderful event!  Thank you.  It was all first class, and the award trophy is spectacular.
My only criticism is time.  It ran almost an hour late...  I think some of the intro speeches were a bit long.  It did put some pressure on Allison, and I was late to speak at another event.
Beyond that, I was most impressed.  Again, I thank you.
Larry Wert
President and General Manager, NBC5

Your event on Thursday was magnificent. My only comment was the check in table. I believe if the name badges indicated the table number for each guest, it may have eliminated some confusion. The program was beautiful. Kemal, I was very proud to be able to say that I know you, and look forward to a continued successful relationship with you and the Niagara Foundation.
Kitty Weiner
District Representative
Congressman Peter J. Roskam

I sincerely appreciate being your guest and thoroughly enjoyed my tablemates who sang your praises on a variety of levels.  The event and program were very well done, and I must admit I was quite impressed with the finest details of the background music, quality of invitations and program book, ambience and video.  I don't believe you overlooked or cut corners anywhere!
Diana Palomar
Vice President, Community Services
ABC 7 Chicago

Congratulations! It was a wonderful and perfectly organized event. I had to leave at 8:30 p.m. sharp due to other commitments (at my house...), so I missed a couple of awards. Maybe the number of awards and honorees could be slightly reduced in the future, but all in all it was a very dignified, perfectly organized and well attended event! (Excellent MC too!).
Marek Skolil
Consul General of the Czech  Republic

What a wonderful event last night!  Very elegant, very inspiring. Thank you so much for inviting me.
John Lampinen
Editor, Daily Herald

Since I had absolutely NO idea about the Niagara Foundation and the work you do, I also had no idea it was an awards dinner. I certainly enjoyed the event and met very interesting people at my table. I certainly enjoyed hearing about the work of the honorees and was impressed with the amount of detail that went into planning the event. Overall, I would say the event was a big success and appreciated the invitation to participate. Thank you.

Director, International Studies
College of DuPage

The Peace And Dialogue Dinner and Awards ceremony was truly a memorable event.  Your awardees were all most deserving and obviously appreciate you and the Niagara Foundation.  I saw the media coverage on Channel Five when I got home and Ms. Rosati did a great job with that as well.
My only suggestion is that in the future you may wish to also consider a luncheon format.  The dinner is clearly more formal and most special, however, I find that there is increasing competition for evenings and a luncheon may attract a larger audience.'
Thanks for allowing me to introduce Arne Duncan

President, Harold Washington College

Thank you for your e-mail and your invitation for yesterday's event.
Just a few thoughts:
1. The event was very well organized and very professional
2. The general spirit of the event was excellent
3. The idea of presenting awards to persons of great merit is also excellent
4. However, the ceremony itself was a bit too long
5. Personally, I would suggest rewarding a lesser number of persons, maybe even only one. This would contribute to giving a much stronger focus to the event.
In any case, what you and Niagara foundation are doing is very welcome. Please accept my congratulations.
Jean-Baptiste de Boissière
Consul General of France

I was very impressed by the event. I believe you and your staff did a marvelous job and is to be congratulated. The food was better than I am accustomed to at such large events and the setting was excellent. Only suggestion I would make for next year is to ask presenters and recipients to confine their remarks to a specified time to keep on schedule. But it was still outstanding.  Congratulations!

Where can I begin....
The event was so impressive. There were so many VIPs, the food was great, the award was beautiful, the production was so professional with the videos and music. What more can I say. I was so honored to be your guest. I only wish I had arrived earlier so I could have had more time to spend with you. Speaking of you, you did such a great job with your speeches and introductions – it is clear that you are a very important man around town.
Gideon Blustein
District Director
Congresswoman Melissa Bean, IL08

Thank you once again for the wonderful opportunity of sharing this special night with you, his esteemed honorees, your organization and guests.  I greatly appreciated your attention and am humbled by the extraordinary honor.  The event was remarkably organized and was key in bringing such a sensitive, yet significant message to so many people's attention.  We wish you continued success.
Arne Duncan
CEO, Chicago Public Schools

Thank you very much, I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Philip J. Cline
Superintendent, Chicago Police Department

We had a great time last night at your event. It was a successful event of which we were happy to take part.
Deborah Olivia Brown
Director of Station Relations, NBC5 Chicago

I can not thank you enough for including me in your beautiful program this evening.  It was an honor to be part of your efforts. Everything you created was first class, meaningful and very profound.  I hope this will be the beginning of the process of peace in the world.  I wish the Turkish people would be open to this kind of dialogue.

I would love to have you and your wife over to my new home for dinner one evening within the next couple of weeks.  I will be settled by then and look forward to cooking a nice meal for you.  It was a pleasure to meet your wife.  She is very beautiful.
Arica Hilton

The awards were well deserved and well chosen . You covered an amazing range of community leaders and I congratulate you on the speed with which the Niagara Foundation has made its imprint on the political-community life of Chicago. The premises of the University Club and the festive character of the dinner made it a great evening for all participants.
Many thanks again. I wish you success in your future endeavors. Do not hesitate to call on me if you have questions, ideas or if I can be of help.
Wolfgang Drautz
Consul General of Germany

I wanted to express my gratitude and extend my congratulations to your team, who brought tonight's event to life under your leadership. The program was nothing short of excellent with its beautiful ambiance, stimulating content and flawless organization, and you made it all look absolutely "effortless"! I can only imagine the hard work you and your team put into making this event possible.
The remarkable honorees were without a doubt deserving of the awards they received. Each and every one of them stands to be a great inspiration to the people of Chicago. I feel privileged to have been introduced to these brilliant individuals in a venue such as tonight's program. I believe that The Annual Peace and Dialog Awards aspires to be a symbol of Chicagoan Hospitality and Friendship led by the wonderful people of Niagara Foundation.
Thank you once again for all of your efforts.
